International Food Recipe

VEGETABLE BALLS IN TOMATO SAUCE
 

Simple yet different.

Cooking Time : 30 min.
Preparation Time : 20 min.

Serves 6.

For the vegetable balls

2 teacups mixed boiled vegetables (french beans, carrots, green peas, potatoes, cauliflower), finely chopped
2 boiled and mashed potatoes
2 tablespoons plain flour (maida)
4 chopped green chillies
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
1 tablespoon cashewnut pieces
5 to 6 raisins cut into small pieces
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon chopped coriander
salt to taste

For frying the vegetable balls

batter of 1/2 teacup plain flour (maida) and 1 teacup water
bread crumbs
oil for deep frying

For the tomato sauce

1 kg. (2 1/4 lb.) tomatoes, cut into big pieces
3/4 teaspoon chilli powder
3 to 4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons fresh cream
2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
salt to taste

For the baking (optional)

2 teaspoons fresh cream
3 tablespoons grated cheese
